Our Mission
The providers and staff at San Tan Allergy & Asthma strive to provide the highest quality care for patients affected by a variety of allergic and immune conditions including asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, allergic rhinitis (hay-fever), hives, and immune deficiency syndromes. We believe in a patient-centered approach, where each patient is unique and their management individualized. We utilize an evidence-based approach and offer cutting-edge technology to tailor our treatment plans to fit our patient’s needs. All of us at San Tan Allergy & Asthma enjoy what we do, and we hope it shows!
Our Providers
S Reed Shimamoto
MD, FAAP
Dr S. Reed Shimamoto grew up in Montana and Colorado. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, in Denver, CO. He completed his Pediatric Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ from 1997 to 2000 and served as Chief Resident 2000-2001. He then completed his Allergy & Immunology fellowship at National Jewish Health Center and University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver from 2001 to 2003, Colorado where he was Chief Fellow and a member of the Medical Staff between 2002-2003. Dr. Shimamoto founded San Tan Allergy & Asthma in 2005, and has been featured in Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs” issues. He is currently a member of the American College of Allergy and Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, The American Academy of Pediatrics and is Board Certified in Allergy & Immunology and Pediatrics. Dr. Shimamoto has lectured on asthma, allergies, anaphylaxis, food allergy and eosinophilic diseases at local and national programs. He is currently accepting new pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Shimamoto lives in Gilbert with his wife and daughters and enjoys responsible marine fish/reef keeping, gardening, swimming and cooking.
Jennifer Hill
MD
Dr. Jennifer Hill grew up in Mesa, Arizona. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. She then attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. While at the University of Arizona, Dr. Hill was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated with honors. Thereafter, she remained in Tucson to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Banner University Medical Center. During residency she received several awards including “Intern of the Year” and “Outstanding Resident in Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.” In addition, she was recognized for her leadership and dedication to research with the…
Carly Hopkins
PA-C
Carly Hopkins was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2009. Prior to attending PA school she worked in inpatient and outpatient radiology settings. She also spent a month in Tanzania, Africa on a medical mission to serve pediatric patients in that region. She then attended PA school at AT Still University and graduated with distinction in 2013. During PA school she was involved in several community outreach and volunteer events providing medical care to those who didn’t otherwise have access to it. After graduating PA school she spent 4 years practicing Internal Medicine in Chandler AZ. In 2017 she decided to expand her career in the field of Asthma,
